What is Pregnancy Yoga?

Yoga is a great way to prepare the body for labour, birth and beyond. Practicing yoga during pregnancy improves strength, stamina and flexibility. It also relieves tension and maintains good posture (which is vital as the pregnancy progresses)

Classes consist of 4 parts

Breathing: Different techniques useful during labour and birth

Excercises/Postures: Specifically "designed" for pregnancy.

Relaxation/Meditation: letting go of worries, resting down and "connecting" with baby

Topic of the Day: a short talk on nutrition, breastfeeding, birth breathing, list for hospital, list for dad to be, pain relief... etc with relevant handout. This can also be a time to deal with any questions or concerns.

Testimonials:

Steph

Navan, Co. Meath (June 2010)

"As this was my second pregnancy, I felt an overwhelming difference in both labours due to the pregnancy yoga classes. I found it extremely helpful during labour as the breathing exercises helped me to relax and made the pain more bearable. I found the teaching techniques very helpful as I could picture exactly the way they were explained in the class while in labour, something I never thought possible......   I would definitely recommend Pregnancy yoga classes to any expectant mothers"
